How to Protect Your Computer, Network and WiFi from Hackers????

A hacked computer can leave you feeling vulnerable.
You might be shocked to learn how vulnerable your computer system and networks can be. Simple hacker scripts and programs can quickly find any security vulnerability on just about any system. Fortunately, you can take measures to protect your computer and network from being hacked.

  • Router
  • Virus scanner
  • Spyware scanner

Steps:
1.      Use a router for any Internet connection (other than dial-up). Keep the firmware updated on your router. A router uses something called Network Address Translation (NAT), which works similar to a firewall. In most cases, NAT will not allow ports to be scanned and forwarded behind it. Also, the router will use an external IP address while your computer uses an internal one. This in itself provides extra security.
2.      Keep your operating system updated. Manufacturer updates for your operating system sometimes include security enhancements.
3.      Make all of your passwords difficult to guess. Use letters, numbers and symbols. Make them at least 20 characters long, such as MrTsayshackersarefools33@3. Do not use common words or the names of your kids or pets.
4.      Use WPA or WPA2 encryption if you run a wireless network. This is more secure than WEP encryption.
5.      Install and regularly run a good virus scanner and spyware scanner. Update the scanners regularly as well to keep newer viruses and spyware from infecting your computer.
6.      Use Web access email. Free email accounts, such as Yahoo!, Gmail or Hotmail, keep high levels of security on their sites. Do not click links in emails you didn't request. Hackers make good copies of websites, such as PayPal to spam those who click the links. If you get an email from a source such as your bank, PayPal or eBay, open a new browser window, go directly to the site and log in.
